64 yogis at lulumon
This week is the last week I will be teaching classes at Lululemon Britomart sunday 830 am. The runner’s inspired sequences (in preparation for the up comming marathon) echo some of my current of reflections.
The concept of grounding.
Personally I run around doing things I feel I must do now. Life is busy. Its fine to continue like this, but unfortunately it takes a hiccup of some kind before you realise how this busy lifestyle can sometimes be detrimental to your health and how it might affect others.
The yoga class is a good place to really focus your attention within, relax, and re-center yourself. An oppourtunity to emptying out and calm the busy-ness (chitta vritti) of the mind. Your time on the mat to take care and settle the nervous system is a grounding place, that keeps you refreshed, clear, and in the present moment. I try to keep reminding myself when times are busy, it pays to slow it down, ground yourself and stay present.
Slow and steady like the tortoise to the hare always wins the race.
In our last runner’s sequence I hope to in part some grounding whether emotional, physical, or psychological. With our heads in the air, its always advisable to still have both feet on the ground.
Prepare for the Auckland marathon
